David's Tomatillo Salsa

1 small white onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/3 c. chopped picked jalapeno peppers
2 tbps. chopped fresh cilantro
1 13 oz. can tomatillos, drained
pinch sugar

Chop all ingredients. Combine, adjust seasoning to taste. Allow to stand at least 30 minutes before serving.
