Esther's Kifte

1 lb. lean ground beef or lamb
1 egg
1 c. bread crumbs
2 tsp. cumin
salt
pepper

5 c. water
1 1/2 c. lemon juice
1/2 c. sesame tahineh
1 tsp. cumin
salt 
pepper

Combine meat, egg, bread crumbs and 2 tsp. cumin to make meatballs. Season with salt & pepper. Fry meatballs in a few tablespoons of oil until well browned. Add remaining ingredients and boil partially-covered until sauce reduces and thickens. Serve over white rice.
